This privacy policy sets out how Mechintel handles your personal information. Mechintel complies with Australian privacy legislation.

Staying Anonymous

You can browse our online services anonymously. However, if you would like to request a quote for an inspection report, you will need to identify yourself to us and at that point we will collect your personal information.

Collecting personal information

At all times we aim to only collect the information we need for the particular service we are providing. The main way we collect personal information about you is when you give it to us, for example:

  • when you complete our request an inspection/ quote form
  • when you use the contact us form on our website
  • when you call us or contact us via social media
  • when you ask for access to information we hold about you
  • when you register to become an inspector
  • when you request to download our sample report

You agree that, for compliance purposes,we may retain any of your personal information for a period of seven years, although we are not obliged to do so. Inspection reports will not be kept, but electronic copies can be requested for a period of up to 30 days after the date the inspection reportis first made available.

Social Networking Services and links to other websites

We may provide links to other websites or use social networking services such as Twitter and Facebook to communicate with the public about our work. These sites have their own privacy policies.When you communicate with us using these services we may collect your personal information. We will only use it to help us to communicate with you and the public. The social networking service will also handle your personal information for its own purposes.

Collecting sensitive information

Mechintel does not collect sensitive information such as information about health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or criminal history. We will take steps to appropriately protect any sensitive information we do receive.
